There are only two special features on this DVD, and they both belong to Pam Grier. And that’s reason enough to acquire it! She has two nude scenes in this lackluster blaxploitation thriller that largely fails to thrill, and her sparkle is the only spark here. A valid cast, including Jim Backus, Earha Kitt, Carl Weathers, Scatman Crothers, and Yaphet Kotto, is wasted here, but they try their best with what they’re given. The movie is in widescreen and the image quality is good. There’s the movie trailer and a scene and language selector, and that’s it. For `70s blaxploitation genre fans and Pam Grier fans only, but that’s quite a substantial audience!

“Friday Foster” is a light-hearted concern, not as violent or sexual as “Coffy” or “Foxy Brown” but is quiet appetizing. As the title character, Grier plays a photo journalist for a fashion magazine who stumbles onto an assasination attempt on a prominent sunless politician. Following her nose, she discovers a larger conspiracy out to eliminate other dark politicans. Quiet perfectly of the 1970’s, it has its allotment of violence, including an unintentionally hilarious rooftop gun fight between Yaphet Kotto and Carl Weathers. Pam Grier calm contributes her obligatory nude scenes, one in a shower, one in a jacuzzi, and of course one in a bed. Comedian Godfrey Cambridge has an spirited role as a glad club owner, and Ted Lange from “The Worship Boat” makes a silly cameo as a sweet-talking pimp. Other blaxploitation regulars appear throughout the film as well.

“Coffy” and “Foxy Brown” peaceful remain the ultimate Pam Grier films, but this one mild stands sizable with it’s blaxploitation culture (”She’s unbiased all woman”, “Damn I need a beer!”) . “Friday Foster” is a first-rate addition for the hardcore fans.

Alas, George Maharis, after giving us two and a half seasons worth of Emmy-caliber performances as Buz Murdock, has hit the road. Or rather, he’s “unhit” the road, leaving his less flashy but more estimable co-star Martin Milner to go it alone. Yes, Buz is gone for trustworthy, never to be so worthy as referred to on camouflage again. And if you’re a Maharis/Buz fan who fair can’t stand the conception of Route 66 without your popular character, perhaps you’d do well to discontinuance your collection after Season Three, Volume One. Those of you who do determine to stick along for the rest of the wander, you’ll be rewarded with many more memorable moments aloof ahead on the toddle.

In fact, ‘Baron Munchausen’ is the fist time that I have seen a wide veil film presented on DVD that was culled from a pan and scan video edition, re-framed as letterbox and then mastered to anamorphic. In this era of digital re-mastering in high definition for presentation in anamorphic as the de-facto standard for DVD releases, this edition is a travesty.

I was left thinking “where is this series taking us? ” which is not a awful thing for the middle fragment of a record arc. Well, best guess: HD. Yes, this is the first season of “The Simpsons” to include episodes shot in HD. Not all of them are, but many are, and it makes a inequity!

Quality wise, this season was up there with most of the last few: mostly kindly episodes, a few mammoth ones and only one or two that were “meh”. I don’t generally laugh out loud at the demonstrate anymore, but I do chuckle quite a bit and usually reach away having had a pleasurable time.

The Simpsons have been around for more than 20 years now and it`s sterling to say that if you ever surfed your television you came across them. The worst episode of this season is perhaps the worst in the show`s history “Four Enormous Women and a Manicure”, another Simpsons twist on history but this one proves to be the worst yet. The season was mostly apt.

You will gaze a change in the visual style of the reveal, it is magnificent distinguished the same but somehow it’s different. Season 20 is not abominable really but it impartial doesn’t compare well to the earlier seasons. This is a cheaply put-together re-release of shorts mostly from other DISNEY TREASURES TIN releases.

1) PRINCE AND THE PAUPER (1990) also on the Micky Mouse In Living Color Volume #2 TIN DVD release. That version is widescreen, this presentation is CROPPED.

2) THREE Limited PIGS (1933) also on the “Disney Treasures: Amusing Symphonies” DVD release.

5) THE PIED PIPER (1933) also on the “Disney Treasures: Laughable Symphonies volume 2″ DVD release.

With the TIN DVD releases on diminutive availability, I guess Disney hopes those who missed out will recall these 5-cartoon discs. The extreme mark is misleading, when you shatter it down to individual cartoon cost this release is EXPENSIVE!

And no extras!

I bought this for my 3yr frail twins, and from the first showing, I kept hearing giggling and laughing as they watched the cartoons. My girls already are familiar with some fairy tales, so they really loved “The Three Shrimp Pigs” and “The Pied Piper”. I highly recommend this DVD and believe it is a gigantic seize for parents with young children.

While it was short-lived Masters of the Universe (2,002) series was a gigantic note. It was begining to hit it’s crawl when it was cancelled. Thus so many children did not glean to sight the world of He-man. But with this DVD residence they quiet can. And it is well worth the $16 pre-order for Volume One. As always the people at BCI will do a top notch job. The episodes had morals that were not aired in the US, apt similar to those on the ’80s cartoon. These are included in these releases and so grand more.

At long last, fans are treated to what many contemplate the most right and provocative rendition of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe saga. Debuting in 2002 under the Mike Young Productions umbrella, this latest rendition of the He-Man source material closely follows the fresh Filmation standard dwelling in the early 1980s with modernized animation quality and in-depth stories that further built upon the modern characters and environments.

While the exhibit lasted for 2 pudgy seasons (26 first/ 13 second) it looks like the splendid folks at BCI (based on the 286 small hurry time) have decided to crash the display into three 13 episode sets. Keeping that in mind, it appears as though the first volume will fill the following season 1 episodes across 3 discs:

If it is anything like prior BCI/ Ink & Paint releases, there is a strong chance these sets will be absolutely loaded with extra features including writer commentary and director/ producer interviews. These are the same individuals who released the entire He-Man/ She-Ra DVD sets, which are generally regarded as beautifully packaged and digitally remastered to perfection. This is a must-buy collection for any fan of the He-Man Engaging Universe.

I can’t bash the MOH series because regardless of how listless they are I continue to check them out. I guess I am on a mission to derive one that blows me away. I’m starting to assume I may need to give up. The V Word was no exception to the typical MOH account. This one is a vampire memoir. It had it’s moments, but nothing to rave about. There were times I wondered if I should shut if off or not, but I forged on and came up empty. I would say it’s up to you to check it out but I wouldn’t strongly recommend it.

I bought this on the Strength of Michael Ironside being in it.He is unprejudiced so manic in his performances that he holds the viewer by dint of his believe energy. The earliest example of Ironside that I know of is a USA network Half hour fragment from the 1988 Episode (of some Obscure TV Series) by Ray Bradbury called “The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl”.If you can earn a plan of this, its not a big reveal by any means, but Ironside plays off Robert Vaughn so well that he generates his believe heat and light lawful up to the denoument.

The V WORD is attempting to be innovative, so I lift thats why it has polarised views. I watched the explain on DVD on a 5.1 sound system and the call of the night voices amongst many elements impartial touch the factual conception, and the correct feel.

The DVD extras are a plus too.The commentary is a very top-notch highlight, and shows how Mick Garris is viewing things and how the Director is approaching things. The FX are discussed, and shown in some of the extras, and for a crude Budget TV present, the quality is very excellent. Whilst not as high in production Values as MILLENNIUM ( Seasons 1 and 3 being the most ideal), the V WORD holds a wonderful region in quality production. Dickerson brings a fans delight to the scare, and I feel this works well on many levels.
